Flying down hills on skis is fun enough on its own, but add a little new technology and every trail, every lift, and every minute adds up to even more fun.
At nine North American ski resorts, new Flaik GPS real- time tracking devices are available to skiers—in and out of ski school. These devices (which simply slide over ski pants or sleeves) not only keep track of you or your family members’ whereabouts, but they record the miles, vertical and trails skied each day (and cumulatively). There’s a Flaik interface, so après ski, family and friends can gather around the computer and see just which trails everyone skied. They can also post pictures on Facebook and other social media, sharing the day’s activities with friends.
Flaik devices are available at Stratton and Smugglers’ Notch in Vermont, Steamboat, Copper Mountain and Winter Park in Colorado, Alpine Meadows and Homewood in California and Tremblant and Whistler/Blackcomb in Canada.
