There are some places where just being out in the fresh air makes you feel healthy. Lausanne, Switzerland is one of them. All you have to do is look at Lake Geneva with its voluminous mountains all around and you feel as if you have increased lung capacity.

Swiss spas, Beau-Rivage PalaceFortunately, you can have your view and spa treatment too at Cinq Mondes at the Beau-Rivage Palace. While their entire spa menu looks very appetizing, the couples-only options are especially noteworthy.

They have a suite designed for two that features a double Japanese bath (Bain Japonais), a pair of massage beds, a private Hammam and a garden with a clear view of Lake Geneva.

You can really settle in here starting with an Aromas and Flowers Japanese bath, then move on to neck and scalp massages, pause for tea service and then continue on with his and her scrubs or massages.

Le Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant, Quebec

Le Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant in Mont- Tremblant, Quebec embraces the fresh air in a very big way. While it’s open year round, it’s within minutes of the Mont-Tremblant ski area, making it ideal for après ski.

Visitors spend their time alternating between body warming (dry saunas, outdoor hot baths, steam baths) and refreshing cold plunges in an outdoor pool with waterfalls or in a river that runs through the woodsy retreat.

Each warming/cooling cycle (which is repeated three or four times), is followed by some serious relaxing in a solarium, the zero-gravity pavilion, on terraces, or in front of an outdoor fireplace. From there, one can have a Swedish or hot stone massage.
